World of Wonder

Last year I finished an Alice in Wonderland mural for my sister. This piece started out as just a picture of Alice sitting at a table top with chair in background. It progressed into a finished product when I knew my sister would be leaving to do a Disney Internship last year. I added the remainder of the table, the Mad Hatter, March Hare and background within the last weeks prior to her departure. Here is the final product:

I used Berol colored pencils and a thin Sharpie marker to do the fine ink work.

Also pictured was a fold out card I created for my sister while she was away in Florida. Again, Alice in Wonderland (little there to hint what her favorite Disney film is). I drew the movie caricatures in 2004 during my 2D design class when I was coming up with ideas for a book. This card has quotes and actual pictures of me, my sister and our friend at their good bye dinner prior to their leave for Florida. We're Wonderland queens.

Have a good week everyone. Thanks again for checking in. Please leave comments.
Sincerely,
Becky

Happy October!

In lieu of the fall season and with the upcoming of my favorite holiday, I've decided to post some old work of mine from many years ago (circa 2000 maybe...I couldn't have been more than 15 at the time).

These figures were items I had sketched out after thinking about how we could potentially decorate our new house for Halloween. I ended creating the pumpkins from pegboard that same year. I also made several foam spiders and a ghost from gauze.

The Grinch sketches below were done the same year the movie came out. My brother wanted to be the Grinch for Halloween, so I drew out two sides of the character he could possible be and did his hair and make-up. My biggest regret is that no one took a picture.

Coming up soon within this creative blog...more pumpkins (below are two I did last year and the year prior for a work contest) and potential costume ideas! I love Halloween; best creative holiday next to Christmas ever!

Can you guess what I am?

Thank you to all who have taken time to view this blog and a special thanks to those who keep coming back.
